The Farm at Hollow Springs opens Saturday, October 1 for kids and adults of all ages to navigate the sorghum and hay maze, enjoy a hay ride, and find a jack-o-lantern while enjoying the outdoors. A rope maze has been added this year to the play area which features unique farm inspired games like a hay hop, corn play, cowboy station and tire crawl.

“This year the maze is actually sorghum in place of corn so the density of the maze is amazing. Be sure to wear your tennis shoes and comfortable clothing,” says Tim Tipps, co-owner of the Farm at Hollow Springs. “Families can join us during the daytime hours or after dark for a little more adventure. Either way, we’re sure you will have a great time.”

The Farm offers an exciting outdoor alternative for family outings including birthday parties, family gatherings and celebrations. Public hours for The Farm are Fridays 5 -9 p.m., Saturdays 1 p.m. – 9 p.m. and Sundays 2 p.m. – 6 p.m. Additional hours are available for groups.

The maze and hayride will take 60 to 75 minutes to complete, however, we want people to come and enjoy The Farm for as long as they choose to stay. We think that our maze design will be exciting for all ages plus a variety of pumpkins and gourds will be available for purchase.

The Farm at Hollow Springs will open in October for weekend visitors. In 2011, we’ll be celebrating two centennials as our feature for the maze and other activities – MTSU and the Girl Scouts.

MTSU turns 100 and since we are both alumni, we want to celebrate our school.

The Girls Scouts also turn 100 and we love the scouts. Laurel is a Cadette and Lisa is the co-leader. Tim is a volunteer parent who gets busy during cookie season.

So, our hats our off to both.

Our maze features the 100th symbol and lightning strikes can get you lost or help you find your way.

Wear your Girl Scout sash/vest/pin or your MTSU apparel and receive a discount.

We’re looking forward to seeing you in October.
